- Brutal leg-wrecking sandwich programmed by Ben Bergeron (Linchpin Test 5). The 20 heavy back squats before the 2-mile run pre-fatigues the quads before a long aerobic effort, then demands the athlete re-squat with already-destroyed legs on return. The 225/155 lb load is near the athletes' body weight for many, making these sets challenging from rep one. The run must be managed — redlining early will make the final 20 squats nearly impossible. Expect 22-38 minutes.
